Have you ever heard about this famous quote from Hippocrates, the father of Medicine?
“Let food be thy medicine, thy medicine shall be thy food.”
As a public health student, this quote quite popular (back when I still had nutrition classes to attend). The meaning of that quote is we should eat to nourish our bodies because you are what you eat. Hippocrates recognized the value of eating well and the potential of certain foods for good health.
If you’ve followed my Instagram, you might know that I’ve been changing my food habit, I don’t do diet, NO.
I only think about eating healthily now and never think about how many calories I've had today. What’s healthy eating?
A healthy eating should include a wide variety of nutritious foods for sufficient intake of all nutrients, including vitamins and minerals, it’s all about taking all the essential nutrients and cutting out as many chemicals as possible. A healthy eating can help you maintain a healthy body weight and decrease your risk of many diet-related chronic diseases, such as cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes and some cancers. Healthy eating is not about strict dietary limitations and staying unrealistically thin or depriving yourself of the foods you love.
I've been receiving these healthy lunch boxes from ka @citra_leoni the owner of healthy food catering based in Manado and here are the healthy food menu I ate these past 5 days.
Brown rice, seafood skewers, steamed broccoli and fruits (papaya & melon).
Sweet potato cheese, roasted chicken breast, steamed carrots & fruits (sunkist & papaya).
Grilled brown rice, sauteed tofu, fitbar snack, fruit (watermelon & melon).
Tuna sandwich (wheat breads), fruits (sunkist & watermelon), baked potatoes, fitbar snack.

Boiled potates, Woku chicken (Manadonese traditional food), sauteed tempe + long beans, fruits (grape & papaya)

Catatan : Makanan menggunakan sedikit garam, tanpa MSG, tanpa bahan pewarna buatan, tanpa penyedap rasa buatan. Makanan yang dimasak/ditumis menggunakan olive oil (minyak zaitun). Menu makanan tiap minggu akan selalu beda.
Rp 200.000/minggu (5 hari tepatnya, dari hari Senin - Jumat).
